Fran long before joining Insaneography, also before she forced herself to become a therian, causing her hair to turn white.

Vanessa is the childhood friend that was bitten at a young age (she’s a werebear fyi), the one that sparked and aided Fran’s goal to finding some way of reversing it. Nessa never really came to terms with becoming a therian, and neither did her parents who could not handle the stress of having a child that transformed into a wild bear. Fran’s parents took her in and the two girls grew up together, practically sisters.

In college, with Nessa’s help, they pulled together a little group interested in funding/researching a ‘cure’. One member of the group was a professor, a werewolf, and it is with the sample of his blood that Fran later uses to change herself.

It’s after Fran moves to study in France, that Nessa was killed, by someone that knew what they were doing and what she was; the news devastates Fran. She blames herself for not staying in Germany, that perhaps her presence would have made a difference. It’s this that drives her, even more, to succeed in her goal, and to change.
